Category | The building permitting application always belongs to a particular category that determines the purpose of the permit application. Each category includes various work types and work targets that further particularize the permit application. |
Circulations | The Circulation feature allows any municipal department, external agency, or corporation to participate in building and planning approval assessment. A local government authority creates a circulation request in Cloudpermit and assigns it to specific stakeholders, like the fire department or gas department. |

Committees and Council Meetings | The Committee and Council Meetings feature is included in special and conditional use permits. This feature is critical to the planning approval process as these meetings are held to decide on planning applications following local government policies. They also usually adhere to a strict municipality-based protocol. The "Committee and Council Meetings" section can be accessed from the Cloudpermit dashboard, where users can generate agendas and meeting packages and better manage meeting dates. Within this feature, each approval application can be assigned to an upcoming meeting, allowing Cloudpermit to create and share agendas and other relevant meeting documents automatically. |
Dashboard | The dashboard on Cloudpermit displays the essential information a user needs to achieve one or more service objectives. It is consolidated and arranged on a single scrollable screen to monitor the information quickly. In practice, the Dashboard on Cloudpermit serves as a user's homepage. After registering and signing into the service, a user enters the "My dashboard". |
Dispatch | A specific dashboard where inspection request queue. A dispatcher can then confirm inspection requests onto a specific inspector's calendar. This includes a map view. |
GIS | GIS creates, manages, analyzes, and maps various data. Cloudpermit utilizes GIS technology in the building and planning processes. For example, Cloudpermit can display planning designations in the embedded map or environmentally sensitive areas, such as wetlands, opportunities for outdoor recreation, and plant and animal habitat, which communities may require to protect highly. |
Phrases | The "Commonly Used Phrases" is a functionality that allows local government users to pre-configure phrases to be used in specific forms, like review reports, agreements, or permits. The local government authority grants permission to administrators to configure these phrases to templates in the Cloudpermit "Standard Texts" configuration. The Commonly Used Phrases include a category (a Category drop-down) that determines the use case, for example, review report, permit, etc., and a phrase text (a Phrase drop-down). |
Project | Applicants start their projects once they have created an application within the Cloudpermit workspace. |
Messaging | The Messaging feature is unique in Cloudpermit. As it is in-built into each application, all stakeholders can send, reply to, and follow the messaging threads within the application in real-time. Users can monitor the application's public (messages visible to all users) or direct (messages visible to selected recipients) workspace messages. The real-time communication between all parties to the application in unclarities remarkably speeds up the application process. |

PIN(Roll Number) | Also known as a Tax Parcel Number, APN, etc. It is a unique identifier for a specific piece of property. |
SaaS | Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the Internet as a service. Instead of installing and maintaining software, you access it via the Internet, freeing yourself from complex software and hardware management. SaaS applications are sometimes called Web-based software, on-demand software, or hosted software. Whatever the name, SaaS applications run on a SaaS provider’s servers. The provider manages access to the application, including security, availability, and performance. |

Task and Request | The Tasks and requests section is a part of the user's Dashboard. It houses tasks assigned to a user, like to-do items or required actions on the application, and important notifications of the application process. All notices regarding the applications and projects are listed in the Tasks and requests section. |
User Management | The location within each Cloudpermit product that Admin Users can add individuals as Authority Users with a variety of group permission levels. |
Workspace(s) | All the information concerning each permit, planning, and construction process is added, updated, modified, uploaded, and stored within a workspace in Cloudpermit. |
Work & Construction | Work and Construction describes a phase in the Building process. It means that the permit has been issued, and the project continues to the actual work phase (Work & Construction). Other process phases include “Pre-Consultation," "Application,” "Fulfillment," and “Archival.” |
