How to identify parties of an application

This tutorial shows how to identify the required parties of your application, like applicants, property owners, designers, and contractors.

In the Application workspace, scroll down to the Parties to the Application section.

Depending on the type of application you are applying for, different parties may be required to identify.

Refer to the Required Tasks section of the application to determine which parties are required for your application.

There are two available options to identify various parties to an application.

Option 1: Inviting parties via email.
Option 2: Inserting a party's information manually.

Option 2 applies if a party does not have an active email address or wants to be digitally involved with the application.

Option 1: Inviting parties via email.

Go to the Parties of the Application section.
Click the Add or Invite Party button.

The Add Party -form opens.

Input the subject party’s email address.

Select a role of the party from the drop-down menu.
Note that one party may have numerous roles. For example, a party may act as the builder and applicant while another party may only serve as a property owner.

Check additional permissions you may want to grant to your invitee. There are the following options available:
  • Modify application - a user may do edits on the application (includes the ability to sign-off).
  • View all applicable phases, like Pre-consultation, Work & Construction.
  • Add new applications.

Write a message to your invitee (optional).

Click the Send Invite button.

An email notification will be sent out to the inputted email address. You will receive a short message that the invitation has been sent.

The invitation remains in pending status until the invitee(s) has accepted it.

Once the party agrees with the invitation, the information will appear under the Parties to the Application section.
The pending status on the invitee's card will change to Approved.

Option 2: Inserting a party’s information manually.

Go to the Parties to the Application section.

Click the Add or Invite Party button.

Check the box Input details manually and add the party immediately.

Fill out the party’s information within the relevant fields.

Select a role of the party from the drop-down menu.
Note that one party may have numerous roles. For example, a party may act as the builder and applicant while another party may only serve as the property owner.

Write a short message to your invitee (optional).

Click the Add button. The email invitation will be sent out to the party.

A toast notification pops up saying that 'New party is invited to the application.'

The invitations waiting for the invitees' response are visible under the Parties to the Application block.
