How to create a pre-consultation request

This tutorial shows how to create a pre-consultation request.

Go to your "My dashboard" and click "Create a new application."

Click the "Create a new project" tab in the "Project selection" view.
Type your project name into the text field.
Click "Next."
Select "Province" ("State") and "Municipality" from the available drop-down menus.
Search for the property address on the map or type the address into the text field.
View more instructions for searching a property address in the "creating a new building permit application" support article.
Click "Next."
Select "Building permit" or "Planning approval" according to your project plan in the "Application type, Project type & Category" view.
Choose the project type and category in the "Select project type" section.
The pre-consultation phase is mandatory for all planning projects.

Your local government authority may require a pre-consultation according to the work type and target if you apply for a building permit.
If a pre-consultation is required, you will have a note of it at the bottom of the "Select category, type, and target for your application" view:
"This application type requires a pre-consultation before a permit application can be submitted.
A pre-consultation request will be created automatically in the next phase."

Click "Next."
The pre-consultation note in the building permitting application looks similar to the image beside.
In the "Summary" view, click "Finish & Create."
In the "pre-consultation request," read the instructions provided by your local government authority.

Go to the "Project data" section and expand it.
In the "Pre-consultation form," type the description for your project.
Enter your availability.
Cloudpermit automatically saves the changes in this section.

Before requesting the pre-consultation from your local government authority, you can add parties to your application in the "Parties to the application" section.
See instructions for inviting and adding parties to the application.

In the "Attachments" section, add, for example, a draft site plan or any drawings and documents that will be beneficial for the stakeholders to understand your building plans and land use.
See instructions for adding attachments to the application.
Click "Request pre-consultation".
Success - You have now requested your pre-consultation from your local government authority.
The request has moved to the "Requested" status.

Cloudpermit will notify you by email after your local government authority processes your pre-consultation request.
