How to find appeal tribunal information in the approval application workspace

If your planning application is denied and you believe the decision is unfair, you may file an appeal.

The council will provide information on how to file an appeal. You will usually receive it in writing, at an informal hearing, or through a public inquiry.

An appeal against a refusal of planning permission is the most common type of planning appeal. Appeals may also be filed in the following circumstances:

  • If an application is granted subject to conditions the Applicant considers unreasonable.,
  • If the application is not decided within the time allowed.
  • If there is a dispute between the Applicant and the planning authority regarding whether the Applicant has supplied sufficient information to determine a planning application.

After the application has been decided, an appeal may be filed (or no decision will be made in time). Typically, appeals are filed outside of Cloudpermit. But for the time of the appeal tribunal, the municipal planning authority will change the application status in Cloudpermit to "appealed." The application will then include an "Application Appeals" section where the appeal information, such as the meeting date and decision, will be saved.

  1. Cloudpermit notifies all involved parties of the application via email that the application has been appealed. Click the "Open application" link to access the approval application.
  2. The approval application includes a section called "Application Appeals," which saves appeal tribunals, the date of appeal and the appeal meeting, and finally, the date the decision was made. The tribunal and the appeal date will be recorded in the "Application Appeals" section when the municipal planning authority sets the application to appeal in Cloudpermit. Once an appeal meeting date has been determined, it will be updated in the "Application Appeals" section. The decision date will be available once the decision has been made.
