Workspace|Using a workspace

Cloudpermit user interface offers many helpful features for applicants and authorities to work efficiently on their applications, permits, and code enforcement cases. A workspace is one of them.

A workspace is a key concept in Cloudpermit. It is a collaborative digital place for all parties involved in the permit, planning, construction, and code enforcement process. A workspace enables adding, updating, modifying, uploading, and storing application and project process information. 

The Workspaces in Dashboard presents all workspaces in the account. You can search your workspaces according to their products (Building/Supplemental Building Permit, Code Enforcement, and Planning Approval. If you have many workspaces in your account, it is handy to use filtering to narrow down the results.

The Search offers filtering with various criteria, like status, category, permit expiry, and municipality. After selecting the criteria whose number is not limited, Cloudpermit displays the data matching the criteria as location pins on the interactive map under Results.

After selecting a location pin, the workspace card opens on the right. It includes details about the application, like the applicant's name and property location, the work category with the target, the process step, and the permit number. 

You can enter the workspace by clicking Open Workspace.

Each workspace is always part of a project. A project can include one or many workspaces. They all are handled in the same project through individual workspaces.

The application's project view lists all related applications to the project.

A workspace contains all the processes, functionalities, and data needed to manage applications and permits. The workspace includes process steps to see which process stage your application is and sections with action to which you must contribute.

The workspace header enables you to manage your email notifications (Enable/Disable)and enter the Messages workspace to collaborate with other stakeholders within the application. You can show the property location on the interactive map and download your permits.

After the application submission, municipal authorities receive applications and start working on the application workspace.  

The authority interface offers functionalities to perform plan reviews, request additional reviews and circulation, collaborate with applicants and all stakeholders through the Messaging workspace, add forms, required attachments, bills, and issue permits.

The authority's code enforcement case workspace has different functions and sections for investigating the code enforcement violation, recording all data regarding it, adding violation fines, and finally closing the case.
