How to customize data file and import it

Cloudpermit includes a self-service tool for administrators that they can use to import old permits to Cloudpermit. Administrators can access the  Cloudpermit configuration from their Dashboard by navigating to the User Menu in the Cloudpermit header, expanding the drop-down menu, and selecting the Data Import item from the drop-down list.

This tutorial explains how to customize the data file and start importing it.

  1. Click Data import.
  2.  Select the file you want to customize and click the arrow to expand the file view in the Data import sessions section.
  3.  Customize, for example, a permit number, address, roll number, status, and many more in this data form file.
  4. To edit the data, select the subject row, for example, the Permit Number row.
  5. Select items for the data import from the drop-down list under the Read from column* drop-down list.
  6. Once the selection has been made, click Start import at the bottom of the view.
  7. The import has started.
  8. You can set the workspace status to match the permit status by selecting it from the drop-down list during the import (permit issued, construction started, occupied, finished).
  9. You can save the Excel file after the import is finished. Click the Excel file link.
  10. Save the file on your computer.
