How to set the upper-tier approval

This tutorial shows how a local government authority can set the approval tier to the upper tier when the approval request is in Draft status. The local government super admin has configured the approval tiers for each application type. The selection may vary from lower-tier to upper-tier approval.

When you set the upper-tier approval as an approval tier at this point, only the option Upper-Tier Approval will be available to select during the approval phase.

The pre-consultation request is completed.
You have created a draft approval request in the Application phase.
The approval request is in Draft status.

Open More Actions selection by clicking the down-facing arrow beside it.
There are three options to choose from:
  • Check property owners
  • Add additional property
  • Set approval authority to upper-tier

Select the last one: Set approval authority to the upper tier.

Success - The upper-tier approval has been selected.

Only the Upper-Tier Approval option will be available in the approval phase.

Note that if the approval authority should be lower-tier when the approval request enters the approval phase, it is possible to change by selecting the option lower-tier from the More Actions drop-down.
