How to create a site approval application

This tutorial walks you through how to create a site approval application on Cloudpermit.

Step 1:
Click Create a New Application on your dashboard.
Step 2:
Click Create a New Project. Enter a name for the project and click Next.
Step 3:
Select province and municipality from the drop-down menus above the map.


Once you have selected the province and municipality, you must locate the subject property on the map.

There are three options available from which you can choose the one that works best for you:
  • Option 1: Using the municipal address of the subject property.
  • Option 2: Using the roll number of the subject property.
  • Option 3: Using a map to locate the subject property.

 




Option 1: Start typing the address of the subject property into the text field. Cloudpermit provides you with a list of existing properties according to the address. Select the desired subject property from the list under Addresses by clicking the address row. 

Option 2: If you know the property's roll number, start filling it in the text field. Cloudpermit provides you with a list of existing properties matching your typing.  Select the desired subject property from the list under Addresses by clicking the address row.

Option 3: Locate the subject property manually by clicking and dragging it on the map. Zoom in and out on the map with the + and - buttons located on the top left of the map. Once you have found the desired subject property, click it once. Cloudpermit pulls you up relevant information regarding the property.

 
If no address is found for the selected property, click the blue link 'You can also add property details manually.'
A form opens where you can manually fill out details regarding the address and property details.
Fields marked with a red Asterix (*) are mandatory to fill out. Click Next.

 
You will enter the Application Type page.
There may appear three application types depending on the municipality: Building permit, Planning Approval, and Public Works.

Step 4: 
Select Planning Approval.
Step 5: 
Choose Project Type (Residential).
Go to Category and select an appropriate category for the application (Site Plan Approval).



Good to Know - section will provide important information about the category selection, for example, the application type may need a pre-consultation before submitting it.

Step 6:
Click Next to proceed.
Step 7: 
You will enter the Summary page. Check the entered information and finalize the application by clicking Finish & Create.
Success - You have now created a draft site approval application.
The Pre-consultation progress bar appears in the Application Workspace if the chosen project type requires it.

You can now return to Dashboard by clicking Back to Dashboard.
The draft site approval application with the status Draft (Pre-consultation) appears in the dashboard.
You can anytime start proceeding with it. See the instructions for creating a pre-consultation request.
