How to Issue Occupancy Permits


Cloudpermit allows municipalities to issue various kinds of occupancy permits (general, partial, and more). This article explains how to issue occupancy permits on Cloudpermit. Please note, before being able to issue occupancy permits using Cloudpermit, you'll have to get in touch with our Customer Support team in order to configure your occupancy permits. How to Issue Occupancy Permits

  1. Log into Cloudpermit at
  2. Find the specific application you're looking for and open it
    1. To help you find applications faster, click here
  3. Scroll down to the Inspections section
  4. Find the Occupancy inspection
    1. If there is no Occupancy inspection that already exists, please add it.
  5. Open the Occupancy inspection
    1. To do so, click the Open button located on the right side of the inspection and which is written in blue
  6. Click the Start new visit button
    1. If you cannot find it, it is located at the top right of the window
  7. Add any of the following (optional):
    1. Deficiencies & remarks 
    2. Orders
    3. Photos
  8. Scroll down to Inspection & visit result
  9. Select from the following two options for Result for this visit:
    1. Granted and fully completed
    2. Granted, but outstanding matters
  10. Select the applicable Template for occupancy permit PDF
  11. Select an Occupancy granted date
  12. Input an Occupancy permit description
  13. Click Finish and Close Inspection
  14. Confirm the end of the inspection
    1. A confirmation the inspection was closed should now appear in the top right of the window

Note: The occupancy permit document will now be available in the following locations:

  1. In the inspection view, under the All visits section
  2. In the Work view of the application under the Occupancy section
