This tutorial shows how to create your building permit application.
In the My dashboard, click "Create a new application."
In the project selection view, click "Create a new project." Type a project name into the text field. Click "Next." In the "Location for the application" view, you can select a property for the application according to your province (state) and municipality selection. You can search property location by address, a roll number, or pinpoint it on the map.
If the subject land consists of more than one property, additional properties can be added later. Select the province (state) and municipality from the drop-down menu.Locate the property on the map. There are three options to do it:
- Option 1: Using the municipal address of the subject property.
- Option 2: Using the roll number of the subject property.
- Option 3: Using a map to locate the subject property.
Option 1: Start typing the address of the property into the text field.
Cloudpermit provides you with a list of properties matching the address.
Select the desired property from the list and click "Next." Option 2: Start typing it into the text field if you know the property's roll number.
Cloudpermit provides you with a list of existing properties matching your typing.
Select the desired property from the list and click "Next." Option 3: Click on the map to drag it. Zoom in and out using the "+" and "-" buttons on the top left of the map. Once you have found the desired property, click it on the map. Cloudpermit pulls you up relevant information regarding the property shown in the image below. Click "Next." If no address is found for the selected property, click the blue link "You can also add property details manually." Fill out details regarding the address and property details. Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are mandatory to fill out. Click "Next."
The application selection in the Application type, Project type & Category" view depends on your municipality's configurations:
- Building permit
- Planning permit
- Public works
Select a category, work type, and work target for your application. If you need a pre-consultation before a permit application, click "Yes."Note that answering "Yes" will start a pre-consultation process instead of a permit application. Click "Next" to proceed. In the Summary view, check the given details and confirm the information in your application by clicking "Finish & create."
If you wish to revise any of the information you have entered so far, return to your application by clicking "Back." Success - You have now created a draft building permit application in Cloudpermit! Note: Your application is not yet completed or submitted. It remains under DRAFT status in your application workspace.To complete your application later, click "Back to dashboard." If you want to complete the application data, sign off and submit your application right away; see instructions for completing the required data and signing off and submitting an application.
